Divisional Religious Ed Team Meeting
On March 13th, the Religious Education Team met and discussed the activities schools have undertaken for Lent. These include Stations of the Cross, "pay it forward" initiatives, prayer-focused bulletin boards, social justice projects focused on clean water, daily prayers, Resurrection Eggs, Pretzel Prayers, and on Shrove Tuesday, students and staff enjoyed breakfast together.
We also reviewed each school's plans for Faith Day. Each school has developed a plan and is in the final stages of finalizing details. Additionally, we reviewed the Living Water Website, focusing on updating the Religious Education programming information. We also discussed new resource sites for our teachers and began reorganizing our Religious Education Team Drive, updating and removing outdated material.
Slave Lake is going to be highlighted in next year's fall edition of the GrACE (Grateful Advocates of Catholic Education) Newsletter.
Additionally, we revisited our Wildly Important Goals (WIGs) from last year and set new ones for 2024/2025.
Following the Religious Education meeting, we had a GrACE meeting where we engaged in an activity that prompted us to reflect on our key messages used to promote and celebrate the gift of Catholic Education in our schools. We also brainstormed ideas for the 2024/2025 WIGs.
