Supporting Individuals through Valued Attachments (SIVA) Training at Living Waters

On February 12th, Beyond the Classroom Facilitators participated in SIVA Training facilitated by Living Waters Trainer - Natillie Quaife. SIVA stands for Supporting Individuals Through Valued Attachments. SIVA is a holistic, relationship-based model that effectively utilizes collaboration and setting of goals to strengthen relationships and create safety for students with challenging behaviors and complex needs.

In March, administration teams will be attending a SIVA Recertification professional learning opportunity with Natillie Quaife presenting as well.

Living Waters Catholic Schools and staff are committed to providing learning opportunities to staff to enhance and increase their capacity to support students in our care.

Ash Wednesday & Valentines Day

On February 14th, Living Waters wishes everyone a very special Happy Valentine’s Day to everyone across the Division. Hopefully everyone has the opportunity to spend the day with their loved ones.

February 14th is also Ash Wednesday. Central Office Staff along with Across the Waters Outreach students and staff had the opportunity to participate in the distribution of ashes with celebrant Father Benjie. Ash Wednesday is the first day of Lent. Ashes are applied in the shape of a cross on the foreheads of attendees. The ashes are often made by burning the palm fronds blessed on the previous year’s Palm Sunday. Ash Wednesday marks a period of reflection, repentance and fasting - leading up to Easter. In our schools across the Division, staff and students are encouraged to participate in the distribution of ashes in preparation for the Lenten Season of 40 days.
ASBA & ACSTA Meetings

ASBA & ACSTA Meetings

The Living Waters Board of Trustees attended the ASBA Fall General Meeting and the ACSTA Annual General Meeting from November 18-21 and had the opportunity to listen to Education Minister Demetrius Nicolaides. In addition, they had the opportunity for professional learning to enhance their efficacy in providing strong governance in their trustee role. Living Waters Catholic Schools are committed to providing quality faith-filled education for all students who enter our doors so that they are prepared for future success, ready to create a better tomorrow!
